My Hero Academia World Heroes Mission Movie Plot
The doomsday cult known as Humarise believes that the Quirks will eventually become so powerful that they will lead to the extinction of humanity. Because of this, they have planted bombs around the world filled with “trigger” gas that kills Quirk users, causing their Quirks to go out of control. Their leader, Flect Tern, plans to use these bombs to save humanity by killing the bizarre population.
After Humarise detonates its first trigger bomb, the World Hero Association sends Pro Heroes and U.A. The students of the Hero High Course head towards Humaris’ targets in hopes of disarming the remaining bombs. Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki are among those sent to the alleged Humarise main headquarters in Oteon Country. None of the Heroes find any trace of Humaris and they are put on standby.
While out walking, Midoriya, Bakugou, and Todoroki come across a jewel robbery. Todoroki and Bakugo go after the thieves, while Midoriya goes after their courier, Rodi Soul, a street urchin who has taken on a job to provide for his younger siblings. Meanwhile, Allan Kay, a Humarise scientist, makes off with an important briefcase, but is attacked by Humarise’s agent, Beros, and crashes his car in the middle of Midoriya and Rodi’s chase. Rody accidentally grabs Kei’s briefcase just before being caught by Midoriya. They are soon attacked by the police, but Midoriya escapes with Rody using Blackhip.
Midoriya is publicly framed for the massacre by police chief Oteon, who is a member of Humarise, and resigns from the network on Todoroki’s advice. Midoriya and Rodi head to the neighboring country of the Clyde, where the Otheon police won’t have jurisdiction. Midoriya sends a coded message about his new destination to Todoroki, who goes there with Bakugou to join him.
That night, Rody becomes homesick and secretly reports the briefcase to the police. The officers who arrive turn out to be Humarise agents who attack him. Midoriya, awakened by Rodi’s bird companion Pino, saves him, but Beros injures him during the fight. Rodi apologizes to Midoriya when he corrects him, explaining that his father abandoned his family to join Humaris and that he and his siblings were ostracized as a result.
The two are attacked by Beross at the border of the Clyde, but are rescued by Bakugou and Todoroki, with Beross committing suicide to avoid being captured. Afterwards, Midoriya discovers a secret compartment in the briefcase containing a puzzle that Rody used to play with as a child. Rody solves it and finds a USB device and data disk inside.
The disc contains a message from Kay, who reveals that he and Eddie Soule, Rody’s father, were forced by Humaris to create trigger bombs. The device contains the code to destroy the bombs created by Kay and Eddie. Humarise announces that they will detonate the remaining bombs in two hours, forcing the deployed Heroes to overcome the ensuing global panic to find them.
Midoriya and the others head to the Humaris headquarters with the device on a plane piloted by Rodi. Bakugou and Todoroki deal with high-ranking Humarise thugs while Midoriya faces Flect Turn, whose Quirk reflects everything that comes into contact with him. Midoriya is overwhelmed by Flect Turn’s natural defenses as well as his laser fire. Rodi arrives and apparently betrays Midoriya by handing over the device in exchange for his siblings’ safety.
However, thanks to Pino, who is actually Rody’s sentient quirk that expresses his true feelings and intentions, Midoriya realizes it’s a ruse and catches Flect Tern off guard. Realizing that Flect Turn’s Quirk has a limit on how much damage it can take, Midoriya uses One for All 100% to defeat Flect Turn with a flurry of punches. Meanwhile, Rody makes his way to the trigger bomb control system, and despite being hit by the laser defense system, he and Pino barely manage to insert the device in time.
Afterwards, the surviving members of Humarise are arrested and the Heroes are treated in the hospital. When Midoriya returns to Japan, he and Rodi tearfully say goodbye to each other. Class 1-A is reunited back at UA and Rody gets a job as a bartender and pursues his dream of becoming a pilot.
