Sword Art Online Extra Edition Plot Story

Suguha Kirigaya meets Asuna Yuki, Keiko Ayano and Rika Shinozaki to learn how to swim in the school pool. Meanwhile, Kazuto Kirigaya goes to school counseling and meets Seijiro Kikuoka, a member of the Virtual Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, who is investigating the SAO incident in order to fully understand the motives behind Akihiko Kayaba.

Kazuto talks and reflects on his experiences with Aincrad in SAO, while Suguha talks about Kazuto as Kirito and the time he spent with Keiko as Silika and Rika as Lisbeth, and how he had feelings for Asuna in SAO. Kazuto then explains his experiences in Alfheim in ALO, recalling his mission with Suguha as Leafa to save Asuna from Nobuyuki Sugo as Fairy King Oberon on the World Tree.

Eventually, Suguha learns to swim and Kazuto finally ends up meeting. While in ALO, Kirito, Asuna, Leafa, Yui, Klein, and Ajil travel to Turtle Island to prepare for a giant whale quest as a reward. They dive into the ocean and reach the underwater temple, where they meet an NPC named Nerakk, who asks the group to find the pearl inside the underwater temple.

After exploring the underwater temple and finding the pearl, it is revealed that the pearl is Baby’s Egg, an egg containing a strange creature inside, and that Nerakk is actually the Krakken, Lord of the Abyss, the boss of the quest. The battle is interrupted by another NPC named Leviathan Sea Lord, who forces the Abyssal Lord’s Krakken to retreat and collects Baby’s Egg, thereby completing the quest. The group returns to the surface on the back of a giant whale. After the credits, Kazuto’s phone rings back to his house, with Seijiro Kikuoka on his ID.
